What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob So you've lost your Nissan key fob or it just stopped working. Before you contact the dealership or panic, go back through your steps to determine where you last saw it. It's easy to replace the battery on the key fob of your Nissan. It can be a bit daunting initially, but you'll get the hang of it quickly. Smart Keys Keys The key fob that came with your Nissan is an important part of the car's advanced keyless entry system. It communicates with the vehicle's electronic systems to open doors and turn on the engine. It also features an easy-to-use design, making it easy to put in your pocket. A key fob also offers features that make life easier, like locking out protection that ensures you won't accidentally leave the vehicle with keys inside. In contrast to previous models of key fobs, which required you to insert the key in an ignition slot to gain access to the onboard systems in your vehicle, smart keys function wirelessly. Make sure that the positive side of the new one is facing the same direction as the previous one did. Close the compartment for the battery, and then put the key back to its hidden position within the case. Remote Start Nissan remote start is a feature that permits drivers to heat up or cool their car from outside the vehicle, provided they are within the operating range. Lock-out tag-out (LOTO) systems can help avoid these accidents by making sure that machines remain completely off until a person authorized releases them. The LOTO system is comprised of a number of locks, tags and other devices that are used to isolate, secure or shut off a machine from an electrical source. All “affected”, “authorized” and “qualified” personnel must be instructed in the use of lockout and tagout devices. These devices include but are not restricted to chains, locks, padlocks, wedges, adapter pins, and self-locking fasteners. Each device is identified and labeled, with the date and time of its application, the name of the authorized individual, and the reason behind the lockout/tag-out (repair, maintenance, etc). It must be stated clearly that these devices cannot be removed until a full LOTO procedure has been completed.
